Should I be concerned? Rear wheel, nexus hub, the bolts are very tight so I don't think it's that, the axel does not move but there is a lateral movement when I hold the frame with one hand and move the wheel side to side with the other.

At my service on 2x12 Giant Revolt late last year the mechanic mentioned a slight buckle on my FSA chain ring..nothing to worry about too much but you need to know it's there. The rest of everything is GRX so I assume the FSA was a cost decision and most Revolt riders report many benefits in changing to GRX cranks . So, Instead of new rings bought a grx crankset and decided to go 165 as, at 5'8 and 30" legs I decided it was probably smart to do that rather than 172.5 like the old one..

It is with much regret I offer for sale my ADO Air 20 Pro e-bike. Sadly my arthritic thumbs now prevent me from gripping the handlebars sufficiently, and after almost ' losing it ' a couple of times when hitting a pothole etc common sense tells me it is time to retire from cycling with much reluctance.

The bike was purchased new by me in july 2025. I have had great fun on it for a total of 526 miles. The bike has been (and is) faultless. Paintwork and bike running gear are excellent..

As our Ka+ has done 112k miles and is 10 coming up to 10 years old I think it wise to replace the timing belt.
The local place has said £400, which I suspect is about right. I understand the belt manufacturers (I've looked at 3 makes) give a 12-month warranty, but it seems to only cover the cost of the belt. The cost of the belt would be the least of my worries if the engine had been wrecked by a belt failure - Whilst I obviously wouldn't want that scenario, how would anyone claim for..

A thread specially for 'persons of leisure' and independent means, or those with aspirations.
How do you while away those lazy days?
How do you cope financially?
When did you retire?
Is retirement what you expected?
How long did you take to adjust?
Etc.

Tell us what you are up to today or what plans you have.
Or just have a bit of silliness to while away those lazy hours.

I've been busy today. Hilly 15 mile ride in North Devon, took dog for a stroll along Saunton Sands, cut the front lawn..

So the tent purchase is now sorted, well nearly!

But now I'm looking at options in which to mount a tent from the handlebars. Oh boy....so many options to choose from!!

I quite like (really like) the Tailfin Bar Cage, great looking and has so many options, but of course such luxury comes at a whopping price for sure. The downside with this is that it actually clamps onto the bars, which I'm not overly keen on as I have carbon bars.

Then there are the two racks from..

What car D.I.Y. jobs have you just completed, or which are rearing their ugly heads in the near future?

We're all manly men here (apart from the ladies) so feel free to dish the dirt, sparing no sordid, filthy, disgusting detail. If you have some dirty pics of the work on progress, then feel free to show us the polaroids.

I was feeling pretty pleased with myself having completed my fifth blood donation until I sat down next to a chap who had just donated for the 125th time..

blood.co.uk encourage donors to talk about their donations to raise awareness. I'm grateful to @biggs682 whose post prompted me to register as a donor in the first place and hope this post might encourage someone else to register. If you've ever thought about it, stop thinking and register. I don't mind admitting that I'm a..

This is sort of money related so putting it here .
I'm most likely going to retire from my 36 hour p/w job in a few months.
Now I want to supplement my pension income with a few hours work each week, I'm thinking ideally 10-15 hours per week, preferably 10 , had something lined up with current employer that suited but that's fallen through. Would there be much call for so few hours p/w from potential employers, going to knock on a few doors soon to find out but I think it's highly unlikely..

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing it, but the potholes in the UK are getting worse and worse. A lot of them are not potholes anymore, they're craters.

I drive as well as cycle and its getting more ridiculous how many pot holes I have to dodge and some of them I can't.

sorry about the rant but I feel like im going to break my car.

Here we go then: a single space to discuss the major one day races in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy and Northern France.

Scope to include both the Flanders/ cobbled and Ardennes/hilly types as they barely overlap (although I can see an argument for Fleche Wallonne to be in the Sh*t small races thread)
The Italians get a pass for their 1 and a half spring monuments

Het Volk
Strade Bianche
Milan San Remo
Ronde Van Brugge
E3 Saxo
In Flanders fields (G-W)
Dwars
Ronde
Paris Roubaix
Brabantse..

Out for a for a run early this morning with Lemmy. Bottom half of the village is very olde worldly and has narrow footpaths. Sure enough, there's some chump sat in a transit flat bed parked half up on the path.

I try to squeeze by without slowing down, as is my lawful right, but I'm too big and I thump into his mirror as I go past. Transit mirrors are designed to take knocks and I didn't damage it.

I carry on running and Neil Anderthal jumps out of his van and gives a mouthful to my..

Two Glaswegians, Archie and Jimmy, are sitting in the pub discussing Jimmy's forthcoming wedding.

"Och, it's all goin' pure dead brilliant," says Jimmy.

"Av goat everythin organised awready, the fluers, the church, the caurs, the reception, the rings, the minister, even ma stag night".
Archie nods approvingly.
I've even bought a kilt to be married in!" continues Jimmy.

"A kilt?" exclaims Archie, "That's magic, you'll look pure smart in that. Whit's the tartan?"

"Och," says Jimmy..

Mine was so good. (I did go for that ride..glad i did)
Just over 20 miles, but since the rear ends a bit sore..
Suns been shining here all day, 13 or 14 degrees, 15 mph winds made it a bit slow on the outrun, but fast home (20 -25 mph for 6 miles ).
Very very glad i went...now i feel guilty about feeling good

How was yours...

It appears that motorists don't appreciate my Road Tax jersey or at least I had far more close passes today then any other day for a few months.

I saw my first 'bent out in the wild. Obviously I've seen them before but this was the first time it belonged to someone I didn't know. Strange design too, very long wheelbase with what looked like a normal headtube over the front wheel, steered from underseat but the front wheel was a long way from the rider.

More and more helmet wearers that..

Hi guys,
I have a road bike and two mtb bikes. The reason for riding mtb bikes, is to get myself off the road as much as possible, especially during the winter months.
I also have a smart trainer that I absolutely love as it’s as near to real life cycling as you can get. I’m on the fence with going back on the road this year ( except charity rides) with the cars and abuse we often have to suffer, just for enjoying a morning out. Although they say cycling is declining, I’m thinking, maybe..
