As you might see elsewhere, a number of us are being made homeless from Bike Radar Cake Stop, and within that we had a group of us musing on photographical things - not themed, and not just about posting photos, but also discussing technique, composition, and other creative stuff. Bikes actually only rarely featured.Anyway, here's my creative one from today, dedicated to Mr CS Creative, masjer, whom I'm trying to tempt over to CC. FWIW, this was done on true HDR, and then reduced contrast...Read more

Whilst out last week I saw one large red sign at the side of the road near Badsworth, with the wording "Cats eyes removed" I think it's a bit harsh, surely the RSPCA might have something to say about that, also driving out of Sherburn in Elmet the council have put a sign out with the message "Warning Potholes" well that'll help won't it, not.

A thread specially for 'persons of leisure' and independent means, or those with aspirations. How do you while away those lazy days? How do you cope financially? When did you retire? Is retirement what you expected? How long did you take to adjust?Etc.Tell us what you are up to today or what plans you have.Or just have a bit of silliness to while away those lazy hours.I've been busy today. Hilly 15 mile ride in North Devon, took dog for a stroll along Saunton Sands, cut the front lawn...Read more

Wondering if there's sufficient interest on here to keep a thread going on what wildlife we've come across during the day, out on the bike, in the garden, from work, whatever.Recent encounters for me were a ladybird on Sunday and a sparrowhawk on my way to work yesterday.

Hi all Wondered if there's a technical resource I can read regarding tandems, sizing, what makes a good touring bike etc that someone can point me towards.I'd like to build one up, for mostly road/touring use but i could foresee some light gravel too. Disc brakes and clearance ~40mm tyres, decent luggage carrying capability etc.In an ideal world I'd buy a used frame and make a project of it but I'm imagining they're not so common?Any advice greatfully received!

Friend #1 has just rocked up today with a 1970's 531 Holdsworth frame and fork. Free. I probably have enough in the parts bin to assemble a whole working bike around it. And it's my size!Six months ago I had four bikes. (Not including the Super galaxy I purchased to flip), I now have eight bikes. All gifted. All but one are ferrous. Ironically due to poor health I'm at a stage in my life when I can barely ride a bike more than a couple of miles without it wrecking me for 24 hrs...Read more

The film thread is getting all cluttered up with idiots like me rating serials, shows and documentaries. So, here is the all encompassing TV thread.Review and rate what you're watching or have recently watched, please hide spoilers behind tags!I'll kick off with:Making a Murderer - 6/10A solid but at times frustrating account of Steven Avery. It's a pretty damning critique of the American legal process, and the commitment of the filmmakers is impressive. But some parts are...Read more
