Do a minimum of three outdoor rides per week for each week of the year.
Indoor rides do not qualify. Each ride to last a minimum of 30 minutes. It’s preferable that each of the three rides takes place on a different day of the week – but that’s not mandatory (two rides on the same day will qualify – but they must be distinctly separate rides.)Ride time is defined as ‘moving time’ and does not include any time stopped for taking photos, for example.Try and post in this...

Does anyone use a tracker to let friends and family track their progress?I currently use a software tracker on my phone but it sometimes drops out and my wife worries when she can't see where I am.I am considering buying a hardware tracker, either the Trackting Bike T9 or the cheaper GPS21.Has anyone used these or other trackers? What do you think of them? Many Thanks C

A thread specially for 'persons of leisure' and independent means, or those with aspirations. How do you while away those lazy days? How do you cope financially? When did you retire? Is retirement what you expected? How long did you take to adjust?Etc.Tell us what you are up to today or what plans you have.Or just have a bit of silliness to while away those lazy hours.I've been busy today. Hilly 15 mile ride in North Devon, took dog for a stroll along Saunton Sands, cut the front lawn...

Couldn't find a good existing thread so.....This is a 30 ton Rolling Mill Flywheel from Low Moor Iron Works nr Bradford. It serves as a monument to the works that originally closed in the 1920s and the continuation works which sprang out of the ashes finally closed in 1971.It's quite large!
Note the plaque says Steel Works but I believe it was originally started as and known as an Iron Works.

Whilst out last week I saw one large red sign at the side of the road near Badsworth, with the wording "Cats eyes removed" I think it's a bit harsh, surely the RSPCA might have something to say about that, also driving out of Sherburn in Elmet the council have put a sign out with the message "Warning Potholes" well that'll help won't it, not.

Welcome to the Twelfth edition of the half century a month challengeTHIS THREAD IS FOR RIDE REPORTS ONLY - discussions should take place over in the 2025 chatzoneThere were already challenge threads for monthly imperial centuries (100 mile rides) and metric centuries (100 km or 62.14 mile rides). So
@ColinJ thought it would be a nice idea to come up with an easier challenge for those who don't have the time, energy or inclination to do the longer rides so he created the half...

On the commute
https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/tales-from-todays-commute.105055/post-7567940I'm sure I saw someone else post one recently. It's been on since the bike was new, 10 years and at a guess 40,000 plus miles but still a bit of a surprise. They don't make them any more I think (5800) but surprisingly managed to score one off Ebay for a princely £80 and even in silver and 175 length (Yes, it's silver under the commuting crud). Probably worth getting a new BB...

Mine was so good. (I did go for that ride...glad i did)Just over 20 miles, but since the rear ends a bit sore...Suns been shining here all day, 13 or 14 degrees, 15 mph winds made it a bit slow on the outrun, but fast home (20 -25 mph for 6 miles ). Very very glad i went....now i feel guilty about feeling good How was yours....
