So, after 2021's absolute shitshow i swore i'd never give the organiser another penny of mine. I decided to give my legs a run out, however, as i'd been putting the miles out. I acquired a ticket from a local cyclist for £40, so i felt a little better about not giving them my money!Rumour had it that 2022 and 2023 where much improved from 2021, so i was cautiously optimistic. However, my planning wasn't the best so i had a gig to play on Saturday night before i set off on Sunday morning...Read more

Had a puncture at the weekend, tyre was clear and I couldn't see anything at the time so I just popped another tube in. All I can think of is that last time I had a puncture a bit of grit or similar get into the tyre and then...Read more

Mines Alan Furleys up the downs. 200, starts near Reading. Was thinking of doing the earlier start 300 but an 8am start and less suffering might be more enjoyable.

Welcome to the Tenth edition of the half century a month challengeTHIS THREAD IS FOR RIDE REPORTS ONLY - discussions should take place over in the 2024 chatzoneThere were already challenge threads for monthly imperial centuries (100 mile rides) and metric centuries (100 km or 62.14 mile rides). So @ColinJ thought it would be a nice idea to come up with an easier challenge for those who don't have the time, energy or inclination to do the longer rides so he created the half century...Read more

I have an incredibly minor problem.I have R7000 105 with a 11-34 cassette. Occasionally changing up out of bottom gear (ie from the biggest sprocket) becomes a bit sluggish. If I don't do anything, after a while the mech starts to chatter a bit in bottom gear. If I still don't do anything, eventually it won't change up at all. The first time it happened I just stopped using the biggest sprocket and left it to investigate when I got home. The problem is that the "End adjusting bolt"...Read more

Wondering if there's sufficient interest on here to keep a thread going on what wildlife we've come across during the day, out on the bike, in the garden, from work, whatever.Recent encounters for me were a ladybird on Sunday and a sparrowhawk on my way to work yesterday.
